Season Dates: Our winter season typically opens in mid-December and closes in late March or early April. Exact dates are condition dependent.

Hours: Once we open for the season, the Nordic Center is open 9AM to 4PM daily, and 9AM to 8PM on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Visit our Google business profile for the most up-to-date hours.

Night Skiing: Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 4-8PM through the end of February (day pass, night pass, or season pass required).

Rental Returns: Equipment is due back at the Nordic Center by 3:30PM. Night Ski rentals due back by 7:30PM.

Dog Days: Because dog traffic is harder on trails than skiing alone, Dog Days often open later than Opening Day. Once open, hours are 3-4PM on Wednesdays and 3-8PM on Mondays and Saturdays (day, night, or season pass required). Please always clean up after your dog.

Extended Access: Season Pass Holders may ski outside of normal business hours. Ski at your own risk and use a headlamp outside of daylight and lighted hours.

Visitor Policies: Guests are responsible for following our Visitor Policies.

Hours: Public trail use is from sunrise to sunset.

Support Trail Access: Trails are free to access, but we ask visitors to make a Voluntary Summer Trail Donation to support our nonprofit's investment in trails, facilities, and operations.

Rentals by Appointment: Our Nordic & Trail Center is open by appointment only for mountain bike rentals.

Spring: After the Nordic & Trail Center closes in spring, we continue grooming for postseason skiing as long as conditions allow — a perk for season pass holders. Once grooming is no longer feasible, we close the property.

Late Spring & Early Summer: Our location in the Bridger Mountains means Crosscut absorbs runoff from a large portion of the central Bridgers, creating extensive wetlands and wet areas. As a result, our spring conditions are especially wet, and summer trails often open later than other nearby trails. We wait until they're dry enough to avoid damage from riders and hikers.

Autumn: In fall, we close trails once temperature or moisture conditions start to negatively impact them.

Early Winter: Building the winter trail system starts with early-season snow, which must be repeatedly compacted to form a frozen bond with the ground. This provides the foundation for the whole season's trails. We track weather models daily during this period, since fluctuating or warming temperatures can prevent that bond from forming. When conditions cooperate, we begin grooming before the Nordic & Trail Center officially opens and offer preseason skiing access to season pass holders.
